You see my bones across the field,
lay near what's left,
see the last breath,
to fade away,
as if a soul with this story:
mother on the bed you disappear right next to me,
your hand on mine,
holy death is mine,
you hear his sound coming down the hall,
you disappear right next to me,
your hand in mine,
holy death is mine,
this house,
this field,
in the valley and it looks down,
this house this field,
you disappear right next to me,
your skin's so cold,
how could you know,
holy death is mine
Amaranthine:
Dying in the mist
While living in the midst
Eternal and ageless
What brought us to this pass
The vast dissolution
Of ancient habits
Of brumes that engulf our realms
A supremacy entire
An abiding pall
To tarnish our ether
Bury our scions
And exhume our ancestry
The Emperor:
Dear father,
how could you leave me in this place?
No axe, no flame, nothing.
Dear father, you gave me all of your knowledge, it adds up to dust.
This is the legacy you left,
a path paved with the bodies of children,
pools of sour wine choking their mouths.
Women battered, scared, bereft of hope and light.
Dear father,
the time has come to cut you loose.
This is my gift to you,
to let you sink down into the earth.
Upon my back you will ride no more.

An absolutely pummeling assault of thick sludgy riffs, guttural rumbles, and tribal drums. Listening to this album is like being slowly buried by an avalanche. Practically makes Isis sound like Top 40 pop music by comparison. mattgraupman

Weird: I thought I had tried this at some point and could not get into it; now I like it a lot.
Aaron Turner and his friends make it sound like Isis’ evil twin or something. Alice M.

Jordan Vauvert
The Belgian band explore heavy psych, tribal rhythms, free-jazz freakouts, meditative drone and the vast, shadowy spaces in between. Bandcamp Album of the Day Jun 22, 2020
A foreboding black-doom metal dirge, meditating on a dark world caked in ash, resulting from all the Earth’s nuclear arsenal detonating at once. Bandcamp Album of the Day Jun 14, 2018

I initially found this to be rather meandering after the brutal immediacy of What One Becomes, but within the improvisational void lies an amorphous beauty. Sugammadex
