Jason where are you? Goat of Mendes did the debut. This is a sumptuous package I picked up separately through a distro but rivals Hexvessels packages. Exquisite. Jamie youj ARE a genius.
Favorite track: Paradigms.
Doomy, sludgey metal with long instrumental breaks giving way to death metal growls and snarls. Shades of My Dying Bride without necessarily being entirely derivative, although comparisons may be impossible to avoid - not that it'd be a bad thing! Definitely a worthy purchase for fans of the genre!
Favorite track: Vanished Is The Haze.

21st century death metal has a tough job getting "the hook" right. Brutality, technicality: there is no secret formula to that first 60 seconds but "immediate" is one tack the bold employ, and cratsmen as skilled as BI reap rewards with it. An absolute masterclass in how to deliver a debut full-length, _Starspawn_ stands among maybe half a dozen DM records that offer the same what-the-fuck-is-this? feeling that _Altars of Madness_ had upon its releease 30 years ago. Sulphur Aeon has made three stellar albums, but this one is the best of them. Perfect drums, riffs, production, and vocals, plus a heaping dose of their now famous Lovecraftian horror atmospherics. A top ten death metal album for me. Metallurgical Fire
