Hopefully we'll hear more Vasaeleth in the future. Their barbaric and titanic death metal has been intensified here with the swampy production benefiting their style rather than taking away from it.
Favorite track: Black Curse Upheld.

21st century death metal has a tough job getting "the hook" right. Brutality, technicality: there is no secret formula to that first 60 seconds but "immediate" is one tack the bold employ, and cratsmen as skilled as BI reap rewards with it. An absolute masterclass in how to deliver a debut full-length, _Starspawn_ stands among maybe half a dozen DM records that offer the same what-the-fuck-is-this? feeling that _Altars of Madness_ had upon its releease 30 years ago. Little Rocks Pallbearer have truly build the Foundations of Burden and it's structure is glorious. One of my favorite bands currently.
